Disposable medical gloves are essential items for medical protection and hygiene. Proper usage can effectively prevent cross-infection and ensure the safety of users and those they come into contact with. The core precautions are as follows:
First, choose the right product based on the need and ensure precise fit. Differentiate between medical examination gloves and surgical gloves to avoid mixing them; select the material based on the contact scenario. Nitrile gloves have strong chemical resistance and low sensitization, making them suitable for contact with chemicals and people with latex allergies. Latex gloves have high fit and are suitable for routine examinations. Never use ordinary gloves instead of medical gloves.
Second, ensure proper wearing and check for integrity. Before wearing, check if the gloves are damaged or leaking. During wearing, avoid touching the outside of the gloves and ensure there are no wrinkles when they fit snugly on the hands. After wearing, conduct a leakage test to prevent the protection from failing.
Thirdly, strict control over usage is necessary, and reuse is strictly prohibited. Disposable gloves must not be reused. Continuous wearing should not exceed 4 hours. They should be replaced immediately after coming into contact with blood or body fluids. If they are damaged during use, they must be replaced promptly and hand disinfection should be carried out.
Fourth, compliant disposal, with consideration for environmental protection. After use, remove it promptly and place it in a dedicated medical waste container. Follow the prescribed procedures for handling and do not discard it randomly to avoid causing pollution.
